Another summer workshop! – On Saturday the 3rd of August MixMatched Hosted a Creative Writing Workshop in Westgate Park, Canterbury
The intimate workshop was guided by Creative Writer Emma Robdale and focused on writing that reacts and responds to nature. Sat upon a multi-coloured picnic blanket, a small group were encouraged to imaginatively engage with the flora and fauna in the park with a number of short exercises. Participants walked around the park, documenting what they saw and describing what stood out to them. They also sought out animals and insects, imagining the park from non-human perspectives within their writings. All participants produced several short pieces which they shared with one another… one being of a butterfly exploring each new flower (or suspected flower/colourful beard) it landed upon!… hopefully inspiring a longer story!
